About Introduction of B.Voc.

With the largest young population in the world the major challenge before our country is to make them employable. It has been a long felt necessity to align higher education with the emerging needs of the economy so as to ensure that the graduates of higher education system have adequate knowledge and skills for employment and entrepreneurship. The higher education system has to incorporate the requirements of various industries in its curriculum, in an innovative and flexible manner to produce holistic and well groomed graduates. Joining hands with National Skill Development Corporation HRD Ministry has come up with a new programme to promote skill development Bachelor of Vocation. The main focus of this degree is to provide hands on training while educating the new generation with the specific aim of making them industry-ready. In keeping with the tradition of being in tune with time, Late Bhaskarrao Shngne Arts, Prof.Narayanrao Gawande Science and Ashalata Gawande Commerce College has introduced vocational three year degree courses viz., Banking & Financial Servies, Pharmacy Assistant and Healthcare. The college started these courses from the academic year 2018-2019. These courses are under the NSQF scheme launched by the UGC New Delhi. This is a scheme on skills development based higher education as part of college/university education, leading to Bachelor of Vocation (B.Voc.) Degree with multiple exits such as Certificate/Diploma/Advanced Diploma under the National Skills Qualifications Framework (NSQF).The B.Voc. Programme is focused on universities and colleges providing undergraduate studies which would also incorporate specific job roles and their NOSs along with broad based general education. This would enable the graduates completing B.Voc to make a meaningful participation in accelerating India’s economy by gaining appropriate employment, becoming entrepreneurs and creating appropriate knowledge.
